Mary Lou William’s first liturgical composition, was written in 1967 for a choir of women’s voice. Although performed (as heard on a rehearsal tape) as unison, some optional harmonized parts originally written by Williams have been included in this edition. An optional bass part has also been included.
For the first time Mary Lou Williams’ unrecorded Mass is available to the public in a meticulous critical edition from Williams’ manuscripts and her own rehearsal tape of the work.
